I-NAPA Signs Affiliate Agreement with ICMA

I-NAPA officially becomes an affiliate of the International City/County Management Association (ICMA) on October 4, 2021, at the ICMA Annual Conference in Portland, Oregon marking a significant milestone in I-NAPA’s history as an organization.

Since 2015, I-NAPA has strived to establish itself as a formal organization and affiliate partner with ICMA similar to other affiliate groups such as the National Forum of Black Public Administrators (NFBPA), Local Government Hispanic Network (LGHN), and Civic Pride. After I-NAPA created its bylaws, organized events, and established a core group of individuals willing to devote the time and energy to sustaining and moving the organization forward, I-NAPA had the opportunity to be officially recognized by ICMA.

This agreement serves as a written understanding of the affiliation agreement between ICMA and I-NAPA to work on collaborative measures that will contribute to the greater success for both organizations in the areas of membership, equity and inclusion awareness and strategies, community engagement, and promoting local government careers and the management profession for individuals of Asian heritage. This shows ICMA’s commitment to diversity and I-NAPA’s recognition as an established organization with the full support of ICMA.
